RE: Overland Park, KS

Here is the only one I could find in the area:
WALNUT GROVE RV PARK
If you wouldnt mind staying elsewhere around the city let me know. There are many campgrounds within 20 miles or so of Overland Park. Have a great trip!

RE: Branson?

I just got back from Branson and stayed at COOPER CREEK RESORT which is right off the main drag (76). We were 2 miles or so from the strip right on the lake. Very nice, well maintained CG and close the the action.

RE: opinions of forest river

I am on my second FR TT. Both have been exceptional. By no means are they 'high end' but they get the job done and I have yet to have a failure related to manufacturing.

RE: Camping in KC

If you want out of the way just a bit (25 miles or so) Weston State Park has a very nice campground. There are others around as well. Try this link too MISSOURI RV PARKS. Look in the section for NW Campgrounds.

RE: Eureka Springs AR Campgrounds

I just spent 11 days at TURPENTINE CREEK. If you love big cats you will love this place. Its 7 miles south of Eureka Springs on Highway 23. The campground is small but there was only one other camper there when we were there. They also have cabins, a store and lots of wildlife in the area. I hand fed some deer 2 different times. The folks that run the place are really nice and the campground is about 30 feet from 2 tigers and a lion. They have a total of 175 cats or so. They also have 2 adorable cubs that are about 2 months old and they are on display. Good luck and have fun where ever you go.

I have mine for sale now but no regrets for listing it. I intend to purchase another one next year. Moving from a Salem to a Rockwood.

This is the home of the Andy Griffith show. THere is plenty to see and do. As for the campgrounds I have not camped there but I do remember there being several in the area. Should be an exciting trip. HERES

RE: Deer

Not to get off topic but whats the difference between a Peccary and a wild hog? They appear to look the same don't they? Just trying to get educated here...
NOTE - I should of read the rest of the responses and I would have learned. Thanks!

RE: July 4th camping trips

We are leaving later today for TURPENTINE CREEK WILDLIFE REFUGE in Eureka Springs, AR. The campground is surrounded with tigers, lions and bears. Should be fun. I plan a few day trips as well over to Eastern Oklahoma, Branson and Beaver Lake.

RE: Deer

I was in Forsyth, MO (Branson area) several years ago during Easter weekend. It was about 4am and I woke up early, made coffee and was sitting outside drinking coffee and listening to nature. Out of nowhere comes a momma black bear and 2 cubs. The CG I was at is right on Lake Taneycomo below the Powersite Dam. The mother took the cubs down to the lake, they stayed for about an hour or so fishing then she took them back up into the woods. What a BEAUTIFUL SITE. They were probably 40 - 50 feet from me.

RE: Do you empty your TT?

I completely empty mine at the end of the season. Clean it and seal it up for the winter. I dont use antifreeze in the lines but I do blow them out and empty the hot water heater and fresh tank.

RE: Pet Unfriendly Parks

Alot of the private campgrounds we go to have the 30lb rule. Any pet over 30 lbs is not welcome. Thats pretty sad. My dog weighs 60 lbs only because she is old and over weight.

RE: 2006 Ford F 150 4x4

My F150 is a great truck. I tow 6800 loaded and have 0 issues. It depends on whether you will find a TT to math the trucks capabilities. If your looking for a large trailer then you might want to consider a 3/4 ton truck. If not the Ford should do just fine. Good luck!

I just watched the interviews on MSNBC with some of the boys. They are some very courageous young men. Its remarkable that more fatalities did not occur with the destruction that was there.
